Our number one priority is the safety and well-being of your children attending Chico Unified Schools.
As a result of this week’s precautionary Code Red event at Chico High School, Inspire School, Chico Junior High and Citrus Elementary, we were made aware of concerns regarding school-to-home communications that we wish to address immediately.
Based on parent feedback, as well as input from community agencies, site leaders and our District Incident Response Team, we have developed the following improvements to our district-wide communication plan during a Code Red Lockdown:

Very Important: This message will be sent to the contact information used to enroll your child in school through the Aeries Parent Portal. If you do not have an email address or have not provided emergency phone contact information, please contact your school immediately. Your school can help you set one up.
Our CUSD Team would like to thank our parents and community partners for their input in this process. We are always looking for ways to improve services to our families, so please reach out if you have any ideas, questions, or concerns you would like to share with us.
Respectfully, Kelly Staley, Superintendent
